A Brief History of Victory Baptist Church, Harvey
Victory Baptist Church was founded as an Independent Baptist church in the fall of 1969 by Pastor Peter Dyck. For the next seven years, the church met in a rented facility in downtown Harvey. In 1976, God provided three acres of land on the northwest edge of Harvey, where a building was moved on and remodelled. Victory has always had a heart for missions at home and abroad, as well as the cause of personal and corporate Revival across North America.
Pastor Peter Dyck served faithfully at Victory Baptist Church until God called him home to Heaven in 2000. The church continued on without a Pastor until 2005, when Peter’s son, Paul was called by the membership to become their Pastor. Though a small, rural congregation, Victory has continued on the vision for world evangelism, starting right here at home.
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
